What it does
Rental Desk is the part of Blue Desk you work in every day.
-
Jobs, from inquiry to invoice
Each job holds the client, the dates, the gear, the crew and the paperwork. Confirming a job holds its gear for those days.
-
Gear and packages
Single pieces, sets of the same, and packages made of pieces. Availability is checked piece by piece, so a package is free only when all of it is.
-
Labels and scanning
Print labels on a label printer or sticker sheets, then scan gear out and back in with a phone's camera. RFID tags work too.
-
Service
A ticket can hold broken gear off jobs until it is fixed. Service plans show what is due, and guides show how a fix is done.
-
Estimates, invoices and client links
Estimates and invoices start from the job. A link for the client lets them read the paperwork, sign it and, if you turn it on, pay online.
-
The books
Banks connect read-only, transactions are sorted by your own rules, and the reports and year-end package are ready for your accountant.
Also in Rental Desk: sub-rentals and purchase orders, a crew list with day rates, overtime worked out on crew charges, receipts handed in by the crew, reports on what each piece earns and how often it goes out, more than one company with its own clients and look, roles that keep prices from staff, and two-step sign-in with a passkey or a phone code.
How it fits together
Blue Desk is the whole system. Each part has its own job, and they share one server.
